Kit who?

Reader, writer, troublemaker. Begrudging Wisconsinite. Avid traveler. Almost exclusively an audiobook listener. My favorite genres are romance, fantasy, literary, science-fiction, science-nonfiction, and psychology but I'll read pretty much anything. Always accepting book recommendations.

I love book clubs and book chats with others. Let's read together!

Okay yes, I was largely absent on here this year. Okay yes, I was largely absent on here this year. 🫣 I took a step back from social media a bit to focus on my personal wellbeing and some large work projects and I’m so glad I did. I even spent some time writing which I never thought I would do. I’m excited to get back at it this year and I have quite a few ideas! Stay tuned.
▪️What were your favorite books this year??? I’d love to add to my TBR!

Some reflections for future reference. I originally set myself two reading goals. The first was to read less and mix in other things for fun! Huge “fail” on this. 😜 I did pick up cross stitching and playing video games but it turns out I can still listen to audiobooks while I do those things. Next year I want to practice mindfulness and single tasking more so we’ll see if I can bring the total down a bit. 🤷‍♀️

My second goal was to not buy any books until I had read 20 books already in my stash (mostly audiobooks on Audible and Chirp). This one was tougher for me because I kept being tempted by early edition new releases and Libby holds. I finished my 20th book in November and celebrated by buying some Libro.fm audio credits (support local bookstores 🙌🏻). I ended up LOVING some of the ones I had been saving (Hello Emily Henry!) and had my world rocked by some older books I’d overlooked (A Tale for the Time Being).

I reached 50 audiobook reviews on NetGalley this year and kept my blog use up consistently, link in bio if interested. Maybe next year I’ll venture into TikTok? Who knows??

Overall, it was another beautiful year of reading, listening, and discovering. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2023 full of 5 🌟 reads.
